Resumen

La globalización y la internacionalización de las empresas han provocado que la gestión de personas en las organizaciones sea cada vez más compleja y, a la vez, más estratégica para su éxito y supervivencia en el entorno internacional. La Gestión Internacional de Recursos Humanos (GIRH) se ha convertido, así, en una función clave en las empresas con actividad internacional. En este trabajo se analiza la evolución de la GIRH como función estratégica en la empresa multinacional así como de la gestión de las asignaciones internacionales, actividad clave para correcta gestión del talento en las organizaciones internacionales. Asimismo, se concluye acerca de los principales retos en esta área y se identifican los aspectos más relevantes para el éxito, proporcionando un marco teórico de referencia tanto para la investigación académica en GIHR como para los responsables de la gestión de personas en empresas multinacionales.
