Abstract

This work discusses the structural design of a transportable weighing lysimeter’s drainage system. The importance of structural design in ensuring accurate measurements is emphasized, and the ability of the drainage system’s structure to manage leachate volumes without compromising its integrity. The stresses and strains experienced by the drainage system’s vessels have been analyzed using SolidWorks Simulation. The results obtainedfrom this analysis validate the design of the drainage system and provide recommendations for the structural design of future drainage systems for weighing lysimeters. These recommendations consider the need to maintain a balance betweendrainage efficiency and lysimeter dimensions.
