Abstract
The COVID-19 pandemic had a negative impact on preschool children's learning, particularly in the areas of literacy and numeracy. This paper proposes a prototype video game that uses gamification to help children learn letters and numbers. The game works as follows: the system phonetically indicates a letter or number, and the child must recognize it on the screen. The letter or number to be displayed considers the player's history, so that the system focuses on the concepts that the child needs to reinforce. This allows the game to provide personalized learning and feedback to each child. In addition to helping children learn letters and numbers, the game also provides parents and teachers with information about the child's progress. This information can be exported to Excel format for further analysis, which can help educators to identify areas where the child may need additional support. Overall, the proposed video game is a promising tool for helping preschool children learn letters and numbers in a fun and engaging way. It is also a valuable tool for parents and teachers to track the child's progress and provide targeted support.
