Abstract
In the middle of the 20th century, the responsibility of companies with society and with workers, in addition to quality management, became important. It is essential for the development of business quality to have models and tools that cover these terms. Over the years, different quality models have emerged, such as the EFQM model (European Foundation for Quality Management) and the Total Quality Management model (TQM). Both models deal with leadership and top management. Among these models, Human Capital (HC) is discussed. On the other hand, the life of fossil fuels seems to be coming to an end due to innovation in new energies such as Hydrogen (H2). The impact that this new energy has on the energy sector is analyzed and how it influences Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Quality Management (QM) of companies in the energy sector. In turn, it is analyzed how the workers of the companies accept the inclusion of H2. For this reason, in this study a model based on hypotheses is proposed in which the relationship of H2, as new energy, with business management tools: CSR, GC and HC are analyzed. On the other hand, the relationship between management tools is analyzed. The QM is related to the CSR and the QM to the HC. Finally, the impact that these tools and the H2 have with the Business Results (BR) is examined. For this, a model has been proposed, which has been tested in a sample of 175 companies, most of them from the energy sector, in which managers from the areas of Human Resources (HR), QM, Renewable Energies and CSR have participated. The methodology that has been used for the contrast of hypotheses has been Partial Least Squares (PLS) Regarding the results obtained, a positive relationship is shown between CSR, QM, H2 and BR. Therefore, in this first analysis, satisfactory results are obtained in terms of business economics and the impact of quality tools and models. In turn, there is a positive relationship between the RE and CH with the QM. The HC also shows a positive relationship with the BR, which demonstrates the importance of people in companies. Finally, the results obtained show that H2 manages to increase BR, improves QM and HC.
