Abstract

Doctoral Thesis Intervention in architectural heritage: Hospederías Network is related to the project since the nineties has been developing the Extremadura government management and asset recovery through Hospederías Network. This tourist platform was the strongest bet of the recently released Ministry of Public Works and Tourism, as a strategy to establish a comprehensive model of Extremadura architectural heritage from reuse as four-star hotels, in order to avoid other uses degrading, if not obsolescence or ruin. Our Thesis deals the historical and documentary study of a series of singular and/or assets buildings (convents, palaces, mills, etc.) in addition to its rehabilitation project orients at changing the function as hotel establishment. The ordering of all construction and architectural changes suffered by these buildings over time has allowed us to trace the evolutionary sequence themselves. Respectively, methodological and practical process developed in the last period rehabilitation has taken into account all pronounced issues, including the state of preservation that they presented, and it has resulted in a catalog of actions and mixed intervention criteria, sometimes, radically different between adaptation with conservative criteria, without altering their essential values, and contemporary design. This Thesis searches to clarify, at the same time, the management model Hospederías Network; the legal guide which rehabilitation projects and other associated issues of great interest.
