Resumo

The purpose of this study is to explore Building Engineering students' attitudes towards de use of computers as a learning tool in the university, to examine students' experience with computers and other software applications, and to study the relationship between students' attitudes and experience with computers. A sample of 92 Building Engineering students participated in this study and completed a questionnaire. Results show that students have extensive experience with computers, but little experience with specific software applications. Findings also showed that students hold positive attitudes towards de use of computers. Finally, a statistically significant positive relationship was found between attitudes and experience. This finding suggests that students with higher levels of experience with computers also have more positive attitudes towards the use of computers as a learning tool.
