Resumen
The analysis of the construction sequence of a historical dock construction should bring together all its existing documentation and its conservation status so any incongruity can be pointed out. This paper focuses upon the artificial dock built in Cartagena to be used by the �Real Arsenal de Marina� erected throughout the XVIII century. Plenty of original documentation about its construction is kept today. The empirical-analytical method carried out is presented so a virtual reconstruction of the building process can be done and a graphical analysis of the construction sequence is also included. The process carried out to compile all the data about the research of this historical construction is essential. The methodology presented could be used to analyse the construction process of any other historic dock constructions.
