The windmills of the Region of Murcia as a whole were registered as assets of cultural interest in 1986, being declared under Ley 4/2007, de 16 de marzo, de Patrimonio Cultural de la Comunidad Autónoma de la Región de Murcia, with the category of monuments. 1hcrc are currently 224 windmills registered with this category. 1he objectives of the Master Plan have been: to carry out an inventory and recognition of its material state and current situation, as well as to define a series of proposals for actions for its recovery both individually as monuments and collectively due to its landscape and environmental values, meeting the criteria of the European Landscape Charter a11d the Sustainable Development Goals, defining and adjusting the role they play in the territories where they are located.
