Resumen

Raise a city on what was once water and it was built an island is an extremely rare case. A rethink of ways to make urbanism is caused by this singularity. In Haveneiland (Amsterdam) the target is to achieve a wealth of open spaces through the creation of a wide variety of them into both public and private space. The measures on planning procedures, including a second stay in design, and management, with formation of collaborative partnerships stand out in this Dutch case. The results of this process, exemplified in two blocks, the 23 and the 24, are presented in this article.
