Resum
During the XVI century, masonry is developed in Spain as the main technique of constructions made with stone. The Palace of Charles V in Granada is a very good example, as it includes important masonry pieces, from de ring vault in the court to small arches in walls and halls. However, sometimes architecture surprises us: among its walls we can find a curious monolithic piece, an example of “non-stonecutting” that, by contrast, shows a big knowledge of masonry techniques.
