Abstract
Work life balance practices are getting increasing importance in the last years as they are supposed to retain the talent within the organizations and improve the organizational results (performance, commitment, etc). In this article we examine the main factors that can affect the implementation of WLB practices among small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Among these factors we can cite the role of the founder of the SME and its congenital learning, a process that is composed of 3 sub-processes: knowledge transfer, knowledge transformation and open-mindedness. Finally, we present the main motives that can lead the founder to implement these practices, following the reasoned action theory of Fishbein and Ajzen. A theoretical model is proposed.
