Abstract

Cartagena has an important architectural heritage ma inly characterized by the buildings of modernist and eclectic tendencies loca ted in the historic center of the city and its numerous archaeological sites, as well as its singular defensive constr uctions. Despite having an important history, the city has been unable to perform a systematic identification and registratio n of its monuments of artistic and historical value for a long time. This objective was finally achieved at the end of the twentieth century, th anks to two regulations of different motivation: cultural and urban. From both it is propos ed in this article survey the field of urban planning, analyzing the various architectural catalogs produced throughout history.
