Abstract

Some projects of pedestrian bridge s require supporting their decks on an eccentric bearing system, due to functional or clearance conditions. This paper studies the influence that some mechanical and geometrical parameters have on the bending behaviour of eccentr ic supported decks, especially when loaded under a torsional distributed load. As a fundamental conclusion , it is presented the relatio nship between torsional and vertical distributed loads and the effect that the eccentricity of the intermediate bearings.
