Abstract

In bridge engineering, the typology known as ar ch bridge with inferior deck is very common in construction of pedestrian bridges. Due to its aesthetics possibilities , many arch bridges have been built in urban environments, where structures must fulfill not only functional requirements, but also become architectural milestones. The present pape r studies different vinculations for arch and deck that depend on the hangers’ arrangement, and analyzes if the loads that dete rmine the hangers design are the same as those for both vertical and Nielsen types.
