Resum

The ENERING LIFE + project (reference LIFE-ENV-11-ES-542) seeks to demonstrate, in a real industrial environment, the possibilities of integration of local renewable resources in industrial processes, in order to reduce both energy consumption and CO2 emissions as well as to mitigate the needs of electricity demand in the industrial sector. The industrial process object of the project is a plant dedicated to the manufacture of spirits, where the maceration stage requires a considerably bounded ambient temperature range. Thus, the process has a great need for refrigeration, to be obtained, for the most part, from an absorption machine, which should be fuelled by autochthonous biomass from the area. The remaining electricity demand not related to refrigerating treatments, and in the months of lower supply of biomass, will be covered in the daytime with a 100kW photovoltaic plant. This would mean that the energy demand would be reduced in 80% of the global industrial process. As a complementary objective, if there are energy surpluses at the plant they can be transferred to other nearby industrial processes in the industrial area in which similar energy needs are identified.
