Resumen

This paper evaluates the penetration of mobile devices for learning propose andidentify those factors that influence the adoption of this technology in highereducation. A sample of 411 university students participated in the research. Theinformation collected was analysed in the framework of the Technology AcceptanceModel (TAM) and the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology(UTAUT). We used logistic regression techniques to quantify the impact of the mainfactors affecting the adoption of this technology (Perceived Usefulness, EffortExpectancy, Social Factors, Perceived Entertainment and Facilitating Conditions) beside with socio-demographic indicators. The results indicate that all factorsproposed except Facilitating Conditions appear to be significant. In the set of sociodemographic factor be a woman increases the probability of adopting thistechnology. The intensity of use, measured by the number of resources used, onlyidentified Perceived Usefulness and Perceived Entertainment as significant factors. The implications of this study are important for researchers, teachers and institutionsseeking to implement this methodology study
