Resum

This paper presents the proposal of two activities aimed at fostering the acquisition oflegal terminology using a DDL (data-driven learning) methodology. The number ofpedagogical experiments carried out in this ESP branch is very reduced (Boulton,2010). This is why the gap in the area must be filled by designing and implementingactivities using legal corpora as the source to obtain the information from. Theactivities presented in section 4 of this study are based on BLaRC, an 8.85 millionword corpus of British judicial decisions designed and compiled by Marín (2013). Areview of the literature is also offered in sections 1 and 2, which show the pros andcons of the use of this type of teaching methods, according to the authors cited, andthe methodological void existing in the area. This study ends with the proposal of anexperimental research design for the implementation of the activities following it,which are conceived to act as support to already existing materials such astextbooks
