Resumen

Daily life in a school involves a series of risks such as: fires, explosions, floods, earthquakes, strong winds, etc.;therefore it is important that the Educational Community is actively involved in making an environment which is as safe as possible. Emergency situations may appear at any moment and therefore all schools must be prepared to reactcorrectly in such an event. Carrying out evacuation drills in schools is a very important preventive measure.In Spain, the public administration has been concerned since some years ago about increasing schools’ awareness inprevention matters; although at present both the pupils’ training in prevention as well as the pedagogical importanceof evacuation drills are insufficient. The current research work seeks to demonstrate the influence that thepedagogical importance of evacuation drills have on the general efficacy of these exercises
