Abstract

. A growing international competition and an accelerating technological change characterizes current business environment. To face up with this challenges, firm's capacity of adaptation is critical. To develop that capacity companies needs skilled, motivated and flexible employees. Then, training is becoming an indispensable element in order to be more flexible and, therefore, to maintain and improve fim¿s competitiveness. However, companies¿s investment in training is still low. Using data collected from 380 manufacturing companies in Murcia (Spain), this papers analyzes which variables determine company's investment on training. The identification of those factors can help public authorities in their actions to encourage firm's efforts in training.
