The present work aims, with a certain degree of objectivity, to demonstrate the connection existent between a deceptively simple means of communication such as written language, specifically Chinese characters, and the emergence of a certain type of art, namely that belonging to Chinese Central Dynasties from Tang to the end of Song. The research assumes that these characters constitute a whole Language in themselves that can be universally understood once a certain grammar is mastered. To that end, we 4 will use an Aristotelian simile where we will expose, hylomorphism, typical of the main Chinese arts, focusing on calligraphy, painting and poetry.
