Resum

This study gathers the first results, in the Region of Murcia, on the presence, abundance and composition of microparticles (MPa) and microplastics (MPs), in the stomach and intestine of Sparus aurata (gilthead seabream), species of commercial interest, from aquaculture. The results confirm the presence of MPa and MPs in all the samples analyzed. The most abundant form was fibers. Only one type of polymer (polyethylene terephthalate) and one copolymer (tetrafluoroethylene hexafluoropropylene copolymer) was identified. Regarding the colors identified, blue was the predominant one. In terms of size, all samples showed the highest percentages in sizes below 2 mm.
