Abstract
Palacio de la Encomienda is a heritage building located in Rafael Tejeo street, which is included in the Special Plan for the Interior Reform and Protection of the Old Town in Caravaca de la Cruz. Its construction began in the 16th century and its function was the administration and storage for the collection of taxes and goods. Currently, this building is in a critical state of abandonment that, along with the decentralization of services towards the new city extensions, the lack of free public spaces and the aging population, results in the generalized decadence of the old town. #is Final Degree Project from the Technical School of Architecture and Building Engineering Technical University of Cartagena, tries to solve these issues by proposing an intergenerational Educational Garden, which rehabilitates and enhances Palacio de la Encomienda and its surroundings.
