Te strengthening and restoration works of Aledo’s Torre del Agua have made it possible to discover new aspects ofthe defensive building. Additionally, the existence of a possible previous tower can be confrmed, which might havebeen related to a mine discovered during the construction works previously mentioned. Tese fndings allow us toventure that, at times other than the Middle Ages, al-Andalus and Castilian periods, two water supply systems forthe population were made up by catchment systems which were defended by towers. If the recovery of the Torre delAgua is a fact, those of the Pozo de los Moros (Moor’s Well) and the Mina del Caracol (Snail’s Mine) are underway.
