Resumen

The Rame Tower, located in the municipality of Los Alcázares (Region of Murcia, Spain), is one of the post-coastalwatchtowers built in the 16th century in an attempt to defend the Spanish coast from attacks by Barbary pirates. The Tower is characterized by deep irregularities and, although it is protected as a monument of cultural interest,it is currently in an advanced state of degradation and neglect. An investigation has been carried out which, inthe first place, has consisted of an exhaustive 3D survey, combining different techniques and instrumentation toobtain a complete point cloud that totally identifies the building. The digital representation generated by the pointcloud serves as the basis for the realization of the HBIM model of the Tower with which, together with the historical-constructive analysis, an intervention proposal will be made. The research also identifies what problems wecan find in modeling typical discontinuities of cultural heritage in the BIM environment and what solutions canbe applied for an optimal result.
