Resumen

To date, no wave characterization and modeling has been carried out in the “Mar Menor” coastal lagoon (located in the Southeast of Spain). The objective of this work is to make a first approach to wave modeling in the Mar Menor using the Simulating WAves Nearshore (SWAN), an open-sourcesoftware developed by Delft University of Technology. The input parameters have been obtained from bibliographic sources, theoretical calculations derived from this information and evidences used in other academic works. The validation will be carried out against wave height obtained with an AcousticDoppler Current Profiler (ADCP) anchored in the Mar Menor.
