Résumé

Fuzzy set theory and fuzzy logic have emerged as powerful ways of representing quantitatively and manipulating the imprecision in engineering problems. Especially important it is the application from these theories to the multicriteria decision making, where exist a wide range of methods of decision that have been studied and applied in different areas of knowledge. The weighted sum method is probably the most commonly used approach in multicriteria decision problem in applications in engineering, science and management, due especially to that is a very intuitive and easy method to apply. Because of the simplicity and applicability of this method seems interesting the extension of it to the case in that are considered the levels of importance of the criteria and the performance alternatives as vague and imprecise and they are represented by fuzzy numbers. But this extension of the method of the classic weighted sum to the fuzzy case is not as direct as in a principle one could think, it is necessary to keep in mind a series of constraints and considerations when using fuzzy variable, this makes that the application of the method of the fuzzy weighted sum is more complicated than for the classic case. As a conclusion to point toward the way of facilitating the applicability of the method from a fuzzy point of view keeping the simplicity and applicability that the classic position provides.
