Resumen

The enzyme aminoacylase (EC 3.5.1.14) has been employed as a model system to analyze the behavior of a tangential flow laminated enzyme membrane reactor. An anionic exchange nylon-laminated membrane was utilized as the solid support for aminoacylase immobilization with N-acetyl-DL-valine as substrate. Various parameters such as recycling and output flow rates, enzyme load on support, and substrate concentration were evaluated. The optimum recycling flow rate was 30 ml/min, which allowed for high catalytic efficiency with good operational stability and avoided mass transfer limitations within the system
