Resumo
PICO Collaboration is using bubble chamber detectors searching for Dark Matter. The detector uses piezoelectric sensors in order to detect the acoustic signal emitted by the bubbles that are created within the superheated fluid when a nuclear recoil is produced therein. These sensors are attached on the outer wall of the vessel containing the superheated fluid. Thus, the design of the acoustic matching by interposing a layer of material between the glass of the vessel and the ceramic is critical. A method of characterization, optimization and design of such piezoelectric sensors is presented through a transmission acoustic multilayer model contrasted by experimental, analytical and numerical methods.
