Zusammenfassung
Naolime suspensions can be used for consolidating the surface of soft materials. This paper describes the efficiency of diluted nanolime suspensions in consolidating a number of architectural heritage materials. Particles’ agglomeration is less likely to happen due to the dilution of the suspensions and, moreover, the mixture is easily dispersed by sonication. Another advantage of using low to moderate nanolime suspensions is that the original colour is practically unaltered. The treatment was found to be effective on a calcarenitic stone used in the Roman Theatre of Cartagena, lime stucco and adobe (earthen material).
