Abstract

In the present communication conventional irrigation management on winter celery (Apiumgraveolens) based on local criteria and experience is compared to habitual procedure given byFAO recommendations (crop evapotranspiration, ETc) and FDR probes. The trial was carriedout in a typical comercial horticultural orchard from Campo de Cartagena (SE Spain). For theassessed trial, the achieved water saving with FAO scheduling and and mositure sensor were of18% without yield penalty.
