Laburpena

In response to the reinforced concrete’s recent past, during the 20th century, and his effects in the spatial configuration, this paper will check the theory of 'the Oblique Function', developed by Claude Parent and Paul Virilio in the Architecture Principe’s group. The questioning of the vertical- horizontal binomial and his replacement for the oblique quality were generating, in their opinion, habitable spaces and surfaces where the human body was in an experimental movement removed from a merely contemplative or passive statics. The above mentioned utopian vision did not remain only relegated to a philosophical vision or to imaginary architectures represented as expressive drawings, but it was materialized thanks to a meaningful and precise utilization of the reinforced concrete. Architectural aspects as gravity, mass, light, fractal geometry, texture or lightness will be present in different constructive analysis of some examples like the Church Sainte Bernadette in Nevers (1964) that refered to a cryptic architecture, similar to the bunkers placed in the sand of the beaches across the so-called Atlantic Wall
