Blue Shield is an international non-profit, non-governmental organisation committed to the protection ofall types of heritage globally in the event of armed conflict, natural or man-made disasters. The creationof the Spanish National Committee of the Blue Shield in 2013 coincides with the development ofcoordination and support plans for emergency plans in the field of cultural heritage and the creation of theNational Emergency and Risk Management Plan (PNEGR), with the participation of state bodies,Autonomous Communities and independent experts.
