Résumé
In this paper, a model for the analysis of compact heat exchangers working as evaporators or condensers is studied. It has been implemented in a code for their selection. We are interested in the type of heat exchangers mostly used inair-conditioning and refrigeration applications. The heat exchangers are discretized in cells and analyzed followingthe path imposed by the refrigerant flowing through the tubes. The compact heat exchanger is formed by finnedmultiport tubes with microchannels through which the refrigerant flows. They may have two-rows. In this case, aniterative procedure is performed in order to obtain the unknowns of the problem design. Some experiments areperformed and the data obtained are used to evaluate the results provided by the model. The working fluid is R134aand the secondary fluid is air. The facility is briefly described and some conclusions are finally drawn.
