Resum

Microdroplet deposition processes typically involve incompressible liquid-gas (air) flow with a free surface. However, as the liquid-air density ratio is very high and the ejection period of the drops is usually short, the effect of the viscous forces of the air on the liquid can be neglected. Furthermore, it is also reasonable to ignore the effect of inertia and viscous vapor stresses of the liquid being confined in the firing chamber to a scale of a few microns. Consequently, the Navier Stokes (NS) equations can be solved considering only the liquid phase.
