Abstract

We have determined the protein content (PB) and the fiber acid detergent (FAD) from 120 dry ground samples of Raygrass westerwold (RGW) collected/ in 1985 and 1986, using the Near infrared reflectance spectra analytic technique. From this the nutritive valué of the ingested RGW was calculated for nett energy (UFL) and for protein (PDIE and PDIN). The average contents of RGW in PB and FAD were 24.4 and 23.5 % sDM, respectively. The average energy concentration was 0.97 UFL/kg DM and the protein valué had an average content of 149 g PDIE and of 158 g PDIN/kg DM.
