Abstract

The acquisition of professional skills by students, understood as sets of knowledge, attitudes, skills and abilities thatenable a person to the efficient performance of a professional activity, requires the inclusion of training activities inorder to develop and evaluate those skills and to connect students with what will be their future profession, also tryingto encourage motivation. Companies and professional associations can play an important role in the development ofthese activities and they can participate actively in the orientation of education towards the development of skillsconnected with the profiles of each career. This communication shows the short, medium and long term objectives ofthe Teaching Team: Team Career-Oriented Training in the Technical University of Cartagena (UPCT), and it also showsthe work done by the team during the current academic year. A web page has been developed by the team and it hasbeen designed to show, among other documents, teaching activities oriented to the profession in the UPCT. We analyzethe first results of this initiative, and recommendations are offered for the basic field subjects, whose career-orientedtraining can look particularly complex.
