Resumen

The ecosystem of the Mar Menor has undergone environmental crises in the past decade, negatively impacting tourism, leisure activities,and fishing,and devaluing properties in the area. To address the restoration challenges of this ecosystem, there is a growing emphasis on developing automated methods for continuous monitoring of various parameters at various depths and locations. In this context, a lightweight, autonomous, and submersible profiler has been developed with depth control capability using a variable ballast system, enabling monitoring of the different stratifications of this marine environment. This paper presents the control algorithm used to manage the depth of the profiler, which is based on a cascade control structure with an adjustable setpoint. Additionally, the results obtained at various locations within the Mar Menor, along with the autonomy and limitations identified based on environmental conditions, are discussed.
