Dr. García-Meca holds a degree in Business Administration from the Universidad de Murcia (Special Degree Award). She got her European Ph.D. with Outstanding Ph.D. award. She is a Full Professor at the UPCT in the department of Economy, Accounting and Finance. Her research lines are focused on: voluntary disclosure, corporate social responsibility and sustainability, gender diversity, and corporate governance. As a result of her research work, Dr. García-Meca appears in the Stanford Ranking of the top 2% cited researchers in 2020 and 2021. Dr. García Meca is a member of the editorial committee of the Revista Española de Financiación y Contabilidad (JCRQ4) and Associate Editor (since 2011) of the Spanish Accounting Review (JCRQ3). In addition, she is an expert research project evaluator for the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation and for the national agency of research evaluation (CNEAI). She is the Vice President of the Spanish Association of Accounting Lecturers (ASEPUC), National representative of the European Accounting Association (EAA), and SIG Officer in the Strategic Interest Group of Corporate Governance of EURAM (European Association of Management). She has been a visiting researcher at the University of Aarhus (Denmark), University of Glasgow (Scotland), University College of Dublin (Ireland), and HEC Montreal (University of Montreal, Canada).
