Resumen
The soil bacterium, Agrobacterium tumefaciens, is a plant pathogen responsible for tumour induction in dicotyledonous plants. Due to its ability to transfer a very specific segment of DNA to the plant cells, it is nowadays the most frequently method used for the introduction of genes into plants cells, overexpression of genes or for gene silencing. This manuscript deals the transformation of the plant model Petunia mediated by Agrobacterium tumefaciens.
